Dr. Sandip set about his medical career with the completion of MBBS and MD (Internal Medicine) from Smt. NHL Municipal Medical College, Ahmedabad. On completion of post graduation, Dr. Sandip served at Sumandeep Vidyapeeth and Dhiraj General Hospital, Waghodiya (Vadodara) as Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine for a period of one year. However, Dr. Sandip was drawn towards the field of Gastroenterology and thereby completed his DNB fellowship in Medical Gastroenterology from the prestigious Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences(NIMS), Hyderabad. While doing so, Dr. Sandip procured a hands-on training experience and a wide exposure to an array of gastrointenstinal procedures under the mentorship of Dr Ajitkumar Srivastava, a prominent faculty of national repute.


Dr Sandip has special interest in luminal Gastroenterology especially acid-peptic disorders, celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease and biliary-pancreatic disorders although his practice encompasses all fields of Gastroenterology.


Dr. Sandip is adept in handling basic as well as advanced GI endoscopy procedures. His educational needs in terms of skills and knowledge development were addressed by way of various teaching programmes at Asian Institute of Gastroenterology and Global Hospital, Hyderabad during his tenure as DNB fellow. His pursuit for learning continues till the present time through active participation in various national and international workshops on advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy, ERCP and Endoscopic Ultrasound Specialist in Ahmedabad . Besides procuring, Dr. Sandip has also disseminated knowledge via paper presentations in various national and international conferences. He is an expert in handling all types of endoscopic procedures including endoscopic ultrasound(EUS) and is widely recognised for his skills in difficult ERCP for biliary-pancreatic malignancy. Dr Shah’s long standing passion has been the delivery of individualized and patient- centred care based on an evidence-based approach.
